Tax technology consultancy

A tax technology consultancy, run by the people who do the work.

We implement, connect and support the systems UK tax and finance teams run their work in: Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Alphatax and Alteryx. Two founders, both from the Big Four and from in-house tax, on every project from scoping to go-live and after.

Four jobs, between the vendor and your team

The vendor builds the product. Your team has to run it. The consultancy is what turns one into the other, and keeps it working as the group changes.

01

Choose

Help a tax or finance team decide which system fits the job, and which it does not need. We implement three product families, so the advice is about what works, not about selling one of them.

02

Implement

Configure the system to the way the group actually works: entities, periods, charts of accounts, templates, reports, users. Documented and handed over running.

03

Connect

Join it to the systems either side of it, so the trial balance, the computation, the provision and the disclosures move by API or workflow instead of by hand.

04

Run

Stay available after go-live: the year-end questions, the new entity, the release that changed a screen, and training as the team changes.

Direct, from scoping to go-live and after

Mark Hart FCA was a Director of Solution Consulting at Thomson Reuters for the ONESOURCE platform, after Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and an in-house tax role at National Grid. Charlotte Hart FCA CTA was Head of Tax at a large UK-headquartered multinational, after Deloitte. Between them, more than forty years in tax and tax technology, from both sides of the table.

That is who you work with. No delivery team behind us, no handover between the people who scope the work and the people who configure the system, and no overhead to pay for.

Tax technology consultancy: questions we are asked

What is tax technology?

The software a tax team runs its work in, and the connections between that software and the finance systems around it. For a UK group that usually means a tax provision system, a corporation tax compliance system, a statutory accounts system, a way of collecting data from the entities, and the workflows or APIs that move data between them.

What does a tax technology consultancy do that the software vendor does not?

The vendor builds and licenses the product. A consultancy configures it to your group, connects it to your other systems, migrates the history, trains the team and stays available afterwards. We do that for three product families, so we can also tell you which one fits.

Do you give tax advice?

No. We design and build the systems and the data processes. The tax judgements stay with your team and your advisers, and we work alongside them.

Which products do you implement?

Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE (Tax Provision, Corporate Tax, Statutory Reporting and DataFlow), Alphatax, and Alteryx. We do not implement ONESOURCE indirect tax products.

Who does the work?

The two founders, on every project. There is no delivery team behind us and no handover between a sales conversation and the people who configure the system.

What size of organisation do you work with?

Mostly UK-headquartered groups with in-house tax and finance teams, from a handful of entities to several hundred, including groups with entities and GAAPs across several countries.

Tell us what the team is running, and where it hurts.

Thirty minutes is usually enough to say what we would do, and whether we are the right people to do it.
