Ongoing support from implementation specialists

ONESOURCE Support

Your Thomson Reuters agreement looks after the platform. We look after everything that is specific to you: how your ONESOURCE set-up is configured, how your data gets in, how your close runs, and whether your team can run it with confidence. Direct, responsive, and a fraction of the cost of a full-time specialist.

We implement ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Corporate Tax and Statutory Reporting for a living, so when a question comes in we already know how a set-up like yours is built. You reach the consultant, not a helpdesk, and we try to answer the same working day. That is the difference between support that understands your configuration and support that can only see the product.

This is practical help in live situations, not advice from the sidelines. It runs from covering a member of a tax team through year end and accounts season, preparing the tax accounting for review in ONESOURCE Corporate Tax so the close ran on time, to answering the ad hoc Corporate Tax questions that come up week to week. We have worked alongside a team on its corporation tax return preparation in the system, and we have helped groups use every one of these solutions properly in the run-up to a deadline, when the manual is no use and what you need is someone who has done it before.

The riskiest moment for any implementation is not go-live. It is the day the person who understood it hands in their notice. We act as the bridge during staff transitions: keeping the system running, writing down what lived in their head, and bringing their successor up to speed on your own configuration, so the close still happens and nothing gets rebuilt from scratch.

We work with your Thomson Reuters support agreement, not instead of it. Standard support and platform queries still go to Thomson Reuters, and we will help you raise them clearly. Everything about how you use the system, from a new entity to a rate change to a reconciliation that will not tie, comes to us. Alphatax and Alteryx are covered on the same basis.

Retained hours or a monthly arrangement, sized to your entity count and your close calendar. You get senior people who know your set-up, for far less than a full-time hire, and you only use what you need.

Post-Implementation Health Check

A short review of a ONESOURCE set-up that someone else implemented, or that the business has outgrown since go-live: new entities, new people, new rules. We look at how it is actually configured today, where the data flows are fragile and where the knowledge sits with one person, then give you a written findings pack with the fixes in priority order.

  • Configuration and mapping reviewed against how the business looks today
  • Data flows, workbooks and reconciliations checked for fragility
  • Key-person and documentation risk called out plainly
  • A prioritised fix list you can action yourselves or with us

Cover While You Recruit

When the person who ran the system hands in their notice, we step in for the gap. We capture what lived in their head before they go, keep the provision, compliance or statutory close running on their set-up, and bring their successor up to speed on your own configuration rather than a generic course.

  • Structured knowledge capture from the leaver, written down
  • Hands-on cover through the close, including preparing work for review
  • Handover and training for the new starter on your set-up
  • Sized by week or by close, so you only pay for the gap

Short-term secondment

Fill an Unexpected Gap

When someone goes on unexpected leave and the close will not wait, we step in on a short-term secondment: a senior person who already knows the system, working inside your team for the weeks you are short, on the work that is actually due.

  • A named consultant working to your timetable, not a ticket queue
  • Preparation in ONESOURCE done to your standard and handed to you for review
  • Sized by the week, with no long commitment
  • A clean hand-back when your own person returns

Planned, recurring

Close-Time Capacity

A second pair of hands booked for a defined close window, whether that is the provision, the compliance run or the statutory peak. No leaver and no emergency, just the busy fortnight when the team is stretched, with someone who knows the system doing the work that would otherwise slip.

  • Booked ahead for the dates you know are coming
  • Hands-on preparation and reconciliation, handed to you for review
  • A second set of eyes on the numbers before they go up
  • The same person each close, so nothing needs re-explaining

Once a year, in the quiet

Annual Set-Up Refresh

The changes that make a close painful are usually the ones nobody made in time: new rates, enacted law, new entities, changed codes, the year-end roll-forward. We make them in the quiet window each year, tested on your data, so the mapping is never stale on the day.

  • Current and enacted rates by jurisdiction updated
  • New entities, entity codes and account lines mapped through
  • Year-end roll-forward and opening position agreed
  • Tested on your data before the run-in begins

New-Joiner Onboarding

A half-day for each new member of the team on your own configuration, not a generic product course: how your set-up is built, where the data comes from, what the close looks like and where the traps are. They are productive in their first close rather than their second.

  • Built around your configuration, workbooks and timetable
  • Covers the why, not just the clicks
  • Quick-reference notes left behind
  • Sized per person, booked when you need it

Frequently asked questions

Which ONESOURCE products do you support?

ONESOURCE Tax Provision, ONESOURCE Corporate Tax, ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting and ONESOURCE DataFlow, the four we implement. Alphatax and Alteryx are covered on the same basis.

Do you provide ONESOURCE support if you did not do our implementation?

Yes. To date, the groups we support are ones we implemented, so we know their set-ups inside out. For a set-up someone else built, we start with a short health check so we understand how it is configured, then support it on the same basis.

Is this a replacement for Thomson Reuters support?

No, and it should not be. Standard support and platform queries stay with Thomson Reuters under your agreement. We cover your configuration, your data, your process and your people, which is where most day-to-day questions actually sit, and we will help you raise a product issue clearly when one arises.

How quickly do you respond?

Directly and we try to answer the same working day. You reach the consultant who knows your set-up, not a queue.

Can you cover us while we recruit or while someone is on leave?

Yes. Bridging cover during a staff transition is exactly the situation we have stepped into before. We have covered a tax team member through accounts season, preparing the tax accounting for review in ONESOURCE Corporate Tax, and worked alongside a team on its return preparation.

Does this cover Alphatax and Alteryx as well as ONESOURCE?

Yes. We implement and support Alphatax and Alteryx too, and many of our support arrangements cover the automation that feeds ONESOURCE as well as the platform itself.

Do you offer ONESOURCE training?

Yes, on your own configuration rather than the generic product. We run refresher sessions and new-joiner onboarding using your entities, your mappings and your close calendar. Thomson Reuters provides standard product training through ONESOURCE University.

How is it priced?

Retained hours or a monthly arrangement, sized to your entity count and your close calendar. It is far less than a full-time specialist, and you only use what you need. A short scoping conversation gives you a clear figure.

Do you offer tax advice?

No. We are happy to assist with preparation using the software we implement, and we will do that work to your standard, but we do not give tax advice. Any work we prepare is for your review, and we ask that you review it in full before it is relied on.
